bonyf’s NitrAdine® based products are helping to prevent and treat oral infections

When a denture, or a removable orthodontic appliance (ROA) is placed in the mouth, it is almost immediately contaminated with bacteria, fungi and viruses that penetrates the material (such as methylmethacrylate, silicones) from which the devices are made, due to the porous characteristics of the devices. Biofilm accumulation in the pores of these devices causes local inflammation of the oral mucosa and gums and may eventually induce systemic diseases of the pulmonary tract, cardiovascular system and possibly even organ failure.

One of the most prevalent diseases for denture wearers is denture stomatitis. This is caused by the biofilm formation induced by Candida albicans. It is regarded as a leading cause of denture stomatitis which results in burning sensations, halitosis and discomfort. ROA wearers can experience similar symptoms and often experience painful oral mucosal inflammation.

bonyf has developed two products to help combat these issues: NitrAdine® Denture Disinfecting Tabs and NitrAdine® Ortho & Junior Disinfecting Tabs. Due to the products’ strong anti-biofilm properties, NitrAdine® tablets have proven efficient in removing pathological biofilm from all removable appliances, eliminating symptoms related to denture stomatitis and appliance induced oral infections.
