bonyf initiates clinical studies for the evaluation of the efficacy of PerioTabs® for the treatment/prevention of gingivitis in young adults wearing fixed orthodontic braces

VADUZ, Liechtenstein, 27 Oct 2019, bonyf’s CSO, Dr Bart De Wever initiated two new clinical studies to evaluate the efficacy of PerioTabs® in patients wearing fixed orthodontic braces suffering from severe gingivitis. The clinical studies will be held in conjunction with leading dental universities in both France and Germany.  The studies will commence in spring 2020 and results are expected 12-18 months later.

Severe gingivitis is often observed in young adults undergoing orthodontic treatment with fixed appliances as plaque accumulation is increased. First case studies show high efficacy of PerioTabs® treatment in such patients. There are currently 23 pre-clinical and clinical studies with PerioTabs® ongoing in 11 countries, including Italy, Romania, Belgium, France, Switzerland, Spain, Malta, Israel, Germany, the Netherlands and Brazil.  Four studies have been completed, showing promising results, and publications are currently in preparation.  The two new studies make a total of 25 current PerioTabs® clinical studies undergoing.
